How To Do A Pool Leak Bucket Test
Place a five gallon bucket of pool water on one of the first couple steps leading into your pool.
It helps to weight the bucket down with a rock to keep it from floating away.
Mark the water level in the bucket and in the pool.
After 24 hours have passed, mark the levels again, and compare.
If you have lost more water level in the pool as compared to the bucket, you most likely have a leak.
You can calculate the gallons of water lost per day as follows:
Inches of Water Lost x Square Feet of Pool Surface x 0.62
Remember that the square feet of your pool can be calculated by multiplying the length by the width.
